The Rainbow Jigsaw

There are four components (jigsaw pieces) to the Rainbow Programme which engender the Girlguiding philosophy of .......  Rainbows Look, Learn, Laugh and Love.

Look

Rainbows are encouraged to look at the world around them; discover and appreciate their local community and environment.  Example activities:

Learn

Rainbows are encouraged to be curious and learn new things.  This may be new games, new crafts, new ways to solve problems, new things about themselves.  We provide a range of interesting and fun activities to help Rainbows learn by having fun.

Laugh

We want all Rainbows to have a good time at meetings and help them be confident, assertive, resilient and a good friend to others.  At meetings Rainbows have lots of fun and giggles.  Laughing and having fun helps Rainbows in the other core aspects of the programme.

Love

Rainbows are encouraged to love and value their family; show love for their friends and peers; love their environment and community.  Rainbows are encouraged to be loving through showing kindness and thoughtfulness.  Rainbows are also encouraged to love themselves by taking care of themselves and valuing themselves and taking pride in their individuality.
